A PLACE OF HEALING, QUEENS PARK


Sister Kate’s Place of Healing is a sanctuary for cultural healing, community awareness, and land regeneration of the 'Bush Block' in Queen's Park. People healing Country, and Country healing people.

The Bush Block is located in Queens Park, situated across from the site of the original Sister Kate's institution which incarcerated generations of aboriginal children forcibly removed from their families.

The proposed are a set of small-scale buildings to facilitate the operations of Sister Kate’s Home Kids Aboriginal Corporation activities, notably land and ecology care, cultural awareness training, and community events. The proposal

Herein includes two stages of development, stage one, to be completed by the end of 2024, includes a central event space, ablutions, shed and plant storage. Stage two includes an office building and a retail space and art gallery.
